Worst things about Owings Mills nobody talks about

We have two kids and Homes are going for about $335,000 on average. The median home value here is around $335,000, which seems about average. The unemployment rate is 4.1%, which is about average. Household incomes average around $94,046 in Owings Mills. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

Pros:
- Good job market
- Good schools
- Close to nature
- Lots of new development
- Good internet infrastructure

Cons:
- Limited nightlife
- Sprawl everywhere
- Mosquitoes and humidity
- Homelessness issues downtown
What do you all think? Thanks in advance! Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. I work in education here and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The job market for my field is improving. Feel free to reach out with questions..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 3 years ago from New York and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in The Heights. It's average for what you get.

Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in legal. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.

People: Generally tough. It took about 18 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like Italian.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
