I've been living here for 7 years and I'd say it exceeded my expectations. The walkability is excellent compared to other places I've lived. Overall Definitely worth checking out..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value food scene, you'll love it. The healthcare is genuinely average and I've found I love the pace of life here. My neighborhood (Greenfield) is developing and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Tampa, be prepared for the culture shock. job market is completely different here. And Not a lot of cultural diversity.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I work in consulting here and it's exactly what I was looking for. The job market for my field is better than expected. Happy to answer more specific questions..

As someone who grew up here, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. A lot has changed in the past few years though. walkability used to be much established but now it's average.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Internet is average in most areas.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem surprisingly good.
I've been here 1 years and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The thing nobody mentions is job market. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the job market is legit. And if you're into camping, this place is improving.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Eastside side vs the Lakewood side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Definitely worth checking out..

Used to live on the Cedar Grove side, now on the Midtown side. Completely different vibe. I'm still on the fence after all this time.
