Starting a business in Oxford?

Alright, The median home value here is around $164,700, which is actually reasonable. You can expect to pay around $882 for rent here. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Would love some local perspective. Any help is appreciated. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

We moved here with our family and the quality of life is solid. Schools in Eastside area are better than expected. Kids love it here.

Came here for a fresh start and stayed because it was the best decision I ever made. The weather is honestly average and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Fairview for 15 years. Moved from Chicago for weather. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is underrated. We bought in 2021 at k and it's now worth down slightly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals.

**Employment:**
retail is strong here. real estate is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are reasonable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The outdoor scene is tough - we have state parks within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Fairview schools are hit or miss. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Road conditions need improvement. Limited entertainment options. And healthcare can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For remote workers, I'd say this is a 8/10. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

I've lived in Oak Park for about 11 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from Baltimore, I was surprised by community vibe. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Lots of new development happening
- The weather scene is decent

The downsides:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Chain restaurants dominate

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for couples. Hope this helps!.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. it's not perfect but it works for me. Compared to Austin it's underrated.
