First time home buyer in Oxford

Been living here since 2009. With a population of 26,086, Oxford is a smaller city. The food scene here is surprisingly good. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Any advice would be great. The suburbs are where most families end up. The suburbs are where most families end up.

I've lived in Pine Hills for about 3 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's exactly what I was looking for. When I first moved here from Austin, I was surprised by cost of living. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Good internet infrastructure
- The food scene scene is solid

The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Can feel isolated

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for remote workers. Definitely worth checking out..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is cost of living. I genuinely enjoy living here. Worth doing your research before committing.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a electrician who relocated here from Charlotte about 12 years ago. The main reasons were school and cost of living.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good internet infrastructure
- Active local events and festivals
- Diverse dining options

Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Nightlife is limited

Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are affordable, gas is challenging.

Socially, I love the pace of life here. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
