Alright, I'm a remote worker and Household incomes average around $61,470 in Oxford. The weather takes some getting used to. The suburbs are where most families end up. What do you all think? Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a writer who relocated here from Houston about 12 years ago. The main reasons were work and school.
Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Good healthcare facilities
- Active local events and festivals
Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Dating scene is rough
Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are stable, gas is improving.
Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. Happy to answer more specific questions..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is safety. it exceeded my expectations. Worth doing your research before committing.

Came here for retirement and stayed because there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The job market is honestly improving and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
