Worst things about living in Oxnard

Look, I love Oxnard, but let's be real about the downsides:

Summer heat is intense
Property taxes are high
Not much to complain about honestly

Don't get me wrong, it's still a great place overall. But people should know what they're getting into.

The food scene here is seriously underrated. So many great restaurants.

Weather is the biggest factor for us. Four seasons are nice, not too extreme either way.

Rent tip: look for places in fall. Prices drop and there's more availability.

Totally agree with this. I've been here 10 years and my experience is very similar.

I work in logistics and finding a job wasn't hard. Took about 4 months.

I've lived in Westside for 7 years and it's decent, has its pros and cons.

Respectfully disagree about the cost of living assessment. In my experience, it really depends on your lifestyle.

I'd add that the school system has been improving steadily. Otherwise spot on!

I've lived in Pine Grove for 13 years and it's still one of the best decisions I made.

Good summary. I'd rate it higher personally — maybe 9/10.

Traffic is the worst part honestly. But if you live near work it's fine.
