Anyone work in healthcare in Ozark?

OK so I relocated for work and Household incomes average around $46,951 in Ozark. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Am I overthinking this? The weather takes some getting used to.

Bought a house here in 2021 and it exceeded my expectations. Property values have gone up significantly since then.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value cultural scene, you'll love it. The cost of living is genuinely surprisingly good and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. My neighborhood (Riverside) is reasonable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Denver, be prepared for the culture shock. outdoor recreation is completely different here. And Property taxes are high.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Internet is pretty good in most areas.

Used to live on the Maple Ridge side, now on the Riverside side. Completely different vibe. I genuinely enjoy living here.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a data analyst who relocated here from LA about 11 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and quality of life.

Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Good internet infrastructure
- Close to major attractions

Cons that are real:
- Homeless population growing downtown
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are established, gas is pretty good.

Socially, it's improved dramatically in recent years. Definitely worth checking out..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is weather. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Worth doing your research before committing.

If you value walkability, you'll love it. The pet-friendliness is genuinely solid and I've found the quality of life is solid. My neighborhood (Greenfield) is affordable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Seattle, be prepared for the culture shock. public transit is completely different here. And Not very walkable outside downtown.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want healthcare, then yeah this place is great. But if traffic matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

We moved here with our family and it's not perfect but it works for me. Schools in Pine Hills area are better than expected. Kids love it here.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem pretty good.

I've been here 1 years and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The thing nobody mentions is walkability. It's affordable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the cultural scene is legit. And if you're into hiking, this place is average.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Midtown side vs the Maple Ridge side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..
