Random thought, Just moved here 12 months ago and You can expect to pay around $1,195 for rent here. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Any advice would be great. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

I've lived in North for about 9 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from Houston, I was surprised by dating scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Lots of new development happening
- The traffic scene is decent
The downsides:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Road conditions need improvement
Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for families. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

I've lived in Greenfield for about 15 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from Boston, I was surprised by outdoor recreation. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Strong job market in several industries
- Good internet infrastructure
- The cultural scene scene is surprisingly good
The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Bugs and humidity in summer
Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for remote workers. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

As someone who grew up here, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. A lot has changed in the past few years though. housing market used to be much developing but now it's decent.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem surprisingly good.
I've been here 6 years and it was the best decision I ever made. The thing nobody mentions is weather. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the cultural scene is legit. And if you're into surfing, this place is excellent.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The West side vs the Highland side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a lawyer who relocated here from New York about 7 years ago. The main reasons were school and a fresh start.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Active local events and festivals
Cons that are real:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Can feel isolated
Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are pricey, gas is decent.
Socially, the quality of life is solid. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
