Is Pacific walkable?

OK so Military spouse here. Average temperature is around 58--F, so the weather is moderate. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The weather takes some getting used to. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a HR manager who relocated here from Miami about 10 years ago. The main reasons were work and my partner's job.

Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Decent public transit for the size
- Affordable housing options

Cons that are real:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Chain restaurants dominate

Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are pricey, gas is solid.

Socially, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. No regrets on my end..
