Raising a family in Pacific -thoughts?

Alright, Thoughts? The weather takes some getting used to. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem excellent.

I've been here 3 years and it's improved dramatically in recent years. The thing nobody mentions is safety. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the outdoor recreation is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is hit or miss.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Pine Hills side vs the Cedar Grove side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

No regrets on my end..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from Salt Lake City and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in South. It's challenging for what you get.

Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in education. If you're in tech you might struggle.

People: Generally tough. It took about 3 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: tough. Tons of options if you like Mexican.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
