Considering Palestine vs Salt Lake City -help me decide
I'm a college student here and Household incomes average around $46,228 in Palestine. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from Chicago and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Pine Hills. It's average for what you get.
Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in real estate. If you're in government you might struggle.
People: Generally underrated. It took about 17 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: improving. Tons of options if you like Thai.
Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a chef who relocated here from Seattle about 13 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and my partner's job.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Good healthcare facilities
- Active local events and festivals
Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Road conditions need improvement
Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are pricey, gas is improving.
Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a project manager who relocated here from Portland about 12 years ago. The main reasons were work and weather.
Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Four distinct seasons
- Good airport with direct flights
Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Limited shopping options
Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are developing, gas is challenging.
Socially, it exceeded my expectations. Definitely worth checking out..
