I've lived in Pine Hills for about 7 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I genuinely enjoy living here. When I first moved here from San Francisco, I was surprised by dating scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- The weather scene is hit or miss

The downsides:
- Bugs and humidity in summer
- Far from beaches/mountains

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for retirees. Feel free to reach out with questions..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 15 years ago from Charlotte and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in North. It's solid for what you get.

Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in real estate. If you're in consulting you might struggle.

People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 17 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like Italian.

Hope this helps!.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a accountant, 36, moved here 9 years ago from LA. I've lived in Westside and Uptown, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Good schools in most areas
2. Four distinct seasons
3. Diverse dining options
4. The people are generally improving - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Can feel isolated
2. Far from beaches/mountains
3. The job market situation is pricey and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Westside: Great for families. solid vibes, walkable.
- Uptown: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from LA, everything felt surprisingly good. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are wild. Gas is competitive. You can live comfortably on $40K-$120K here.

**Final verdict:**
No regrets on my end.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

I've been living here for 14 years and I'd say it's exactly what I was looking for. The dating scene is average compared to other places I've lived. Overall Would recommend to anyone considering it..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 6 years ago from Minneapolis and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in The Heights. It's pretty good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in tech. If you're in finance you might struggle.

People: Generally pretty good. It took about 12 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: tough. Tons of options if you like Vietnamese.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value traffic, you'll love it. The nightlife is genuinely solid and I've found it was the best decision I ever made. My neighborhood (South) is manageable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Pittsburgh, be prepared for the culture shock. public transit is completely different here. And Nightlife is limited.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
