Rent is about $1,487/month for a decent place. The unemployment rate is 3.6%, which is pretty low. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's changing fast — some good, some not so much. Thanks! It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

My experience has been mostly positive. it's not perfect but it works for me. The only thing I'd watch out for is traffic. Other than that, Happy to answer more specific questions..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 13 years ago from Phoenix and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in West. It's better than expected for what you get.
Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in legal. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.
People: Generally better than expected. It took about 3 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: average. Tons of options if you like Mexican.
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Bought a house here in 2015 and it's not perfect but it works for me. Property values have gone down slightly since then.
