Life in Palm Beach Gardens as a young professional

My partner and I are With a population of 59,751, Palm Beach Gardens is a smaller city. Median household income is $110,563, which feels pretty solid for the area. Rent is about $2,269/month for a decent place. Crime rate is something to consider -Palm Beach Gardens sits at 136.3 per 100K. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The weather takes some getting used to. Has anyone dealt with this? I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a physical therapist, 36, moved here 11 years ago from Houston. I've lived in Meadowbrook and Eastside, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Growing food and restaurant scene
2. Active local events and festivals
3. Affordable housing options
4. The people are generally surprisingly good - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Urban sprawl is real
2. Far from beaches/mountains
3. The outdoor recreation situation is established and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Meadowbrook: Great for retirees. hit or miss vibes, walkable.
- Eastside: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Houston, everything felt decent. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are reasonable. Gas is manageable. You can live comfortably on $60K-$80K here.

**Final verdict:**
It's not for everyone but it works for us.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.
