Rent vs buy in Palm Beach Gardens -what makes sense?
Just moved here 16 months ago and Crime rate is something to consider -Palm Beach Gardens sits at 136.3 per 100K. Homes are going for about $554,300 on average. Poverty rate is 4.0%, which is pretty low. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The suburbs are where most families end up. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.
Pros:
- Great weather
- Good schools
- Low taxes
- Strong sense of community
- Good airport connections
Cons:
- Sprawl everywhere
- Not very walkable
- Mosquitoes and humidity
- Far from major airports
- Limited cultural events
Has anyone dealt with this? Appreciate any input. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.
