OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 3 years ago from Pittsburgh and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Westside. It's average for what you get.
Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in hospitality. If you're in education you might struggle.
People: Generally excellent. It took about 6 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.
Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

I've lived in Midtown for about 11 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I love the pace of life here. When I first moved here from Denver, I was surprised by cost of living. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:

- Four distinct seasons
- The cultural scene scene is tough
The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Property taxes are high
