Been meaning to ask this. Average temperature is around 73--F, so it's warm year-round. Crime rate is something to consider -Palm River-Clair Mel sits at 582.4 per 100K. You can expect to pay around $1,439 for rent here. The weather takes some getting used to. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Anyone in a similar situation? Cheers. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The suburbs are where most families end up. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

Weather-wise, the summers are average and winters are reasonable. You get used to it after the first year.

Used to live on the Maple Ridge side, now on the Fairview side. Completely different vibe. it's been a really good experience overall.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Compared to Nashville it's excellent.

Hot take but I love the pace of life here. I know a lot of people disagree but after 3 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a sales manager who relocated here from Minneapolis about 13 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and cost of living.
Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Decent public transit for the size
- Good airport with direct flights
Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Dating scene is rough
Financially, we've found it pretty good compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are established, gas is surprisingly good.
Socially, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Feel free to reach out with questions..

As someone who grew up here, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. A lot has changed in the past few years though. cost of living used to be much growing but now it's decent.
