Freelancing from Palm River-Clair Mel -experience?
First post here. I've been here for 7 years and Crime rate is something to consider -Palm River-Clair Mel sits at 582.4 per 100K. Household incomes average around $62,976 in Palm River-Clair Mel. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Should I be concerned? Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

We moved here with our family and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Schools in Cedar Grove area are excellent. Kids love it here.

I've lived in The Heights for about 13 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's improved dramatically in recent years. When I first moved here from New York, I was surprised by healthcare. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Good internet infrastructure
- The job market scene is hit or miss
The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Property taxes are high
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for singles. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a software engineer who relocated here from San Diego about 10 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and a fresh start.
Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Strong job market in several industries
- Active local events and festivals
Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Chain restaurants dominate
Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are established, gas is surprisingly good.
Socially, it exceeded my expectations. Feel free to reach out with questions..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are excellent, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
