The good and bad of living in Palm River-Clair Mel
I relocated for work and You can expect to pay around $1,439 for rent here. It's a a smaller city city with about 26,719 people. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. What do you all think? The city has invested a lot in new development.

Used to live on the Cedar Grove side, now on the Maple Ridge side. Completely different vibe. it exceeded my expectations.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 14 years ago from San Francisco and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Old Town. It's surprisingly good for what you get.
Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in tech. If you're in marketing you might struggle.
People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 9 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: improving. Tons of options if you like Italian.
It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem average.
I've been here 8 years and it exceeded my expectations. The thing nobody mentions is school system. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the job market is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is decent.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Pine Hills side vs the Uptown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
