Working in Palm River-Clair Mel -salaries realistic?
Hey folks, The unemployment rate is 3.0%, which is pretty low. It's a a smaller city city with about 26,719 people. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

I've been living here for 3 years and I'd say I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The traffic is better than expected compared to other places I've lived. Overall Feel free to reach out with questions..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem underrated.
I've been here 5 years and the quality of life is solid. The thing nobody mentions is food scene. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the outdoor recreation is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is average.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Highland side vs the Fairview side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Happy to answer more specific questions..

I've lived in The Heights for about 14 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I genuinely enjoy living here. When I first moved here from Pittsburgh, I was surprised by housing market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Nice parks and green spaces
- The outdoor recreation scene is pretty good
The downsides:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Road conditions need improvement
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for singles. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Internet is pretty good in most areas.
