Is Palm Springs still affordable?
Hey everyone, We have two kids and Median household income is $59,602, which feels about average for the area. The unemployment rate is 4.4%, which is about average. It's a a smaller city city with about 26,871 people. With a population of 26,871, Palm Springs is a smaller city. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Am I overthinking this? There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The food scene here is surprisingly good. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.
