Life in Palm Springs as a young professional

Been living here since 2017. Median household income is $59,602, which feels about average for the area. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Thanks in advance! It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a social worker who relocated here from Raleigh about 8 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and retirement.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Decent public transit for the size
- Affordable housing options

Cons that are real:
- Can feel isolated
- Limited entertainment options

Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are manageable, gas is surprisingly good.

Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
