I'm a nurse at the local hospital and Crime rate is something to consider -Palm Springs sits at 636.3 per 100K. Median household income is $59,602, which feels about average for the area. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Worth the trade-offs? Thanks for reading. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Property taxes are high but you get good services. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem excellent.
I've been here 15 years and it's been a really good experience overall. The thing nobody mentions is outdoor recreation. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the pet-friendliness is legit. And if you're into skiing, this place is tough.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Pine Hills side vs the Greenfield side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Happy to answer more specific questions..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.
I've been in Greenfield for 10 years. Moved from Minneapolis for weather. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is hit or miss. We bought in 2020 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 1-bed in a safe area. Lots of new construction which should help.
**Employment:**
real estate is strong here. manufacturing is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are developing for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
I have mixed feelings honestly. The outdoor scene is pretty good - we have national forests within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Greenfield schools are pretty good. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Nightlife is limited. Limited high-paying job options. And outdoor recreation can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**
For remote workers, I'd say this is a 6/10. Feel free to reach out with questions.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem decent.
I've been here 14 years and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The thing nobody mentions is traffic. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the dating scene is legit. And if you're into camping, this place is tough.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The The Heights side vs the South side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Would recommend to anyone considering it..

I'm a social worker and I've found I'm still on the fence after all this time. The community is improving and there's always something going on.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 10 years ago from Denver and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Downtown. It's better than expected for what you get.
Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in retail. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.
People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 18 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: average. Tons of options if you like BBQ.
Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a pharmacist who relocated here from Phoenix about 9 years ago. The main reasons were work and quality of life.
Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Strong job market in several industries
- Diverse dining options
Cons that are real:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Limited shopping options
Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are manageable, gas is excellent.
Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Happy to answer more specific questions..
