Pros and cons of Palm Springs North after 14 years

OK so The median home value here is around $476,500, which is pretty steep. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Worth the trade-offs?

I'm a social worker and I've found I'm still on the fence after all this time. The community is pretty good and there's always something going on.

We moved here with our family and it was the best decision I ever made. Schools in Greenfield area are challenging. Kids love it here.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 13 years ago from Tampa and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Eastside. It's surprisingly good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in retail. If you're in government you might struggle.

People: Generally underrated. It took about 16 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: average. Tons of options if you like Thai.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

As someone who grew up here, it's not perfect but it works for me. A lot has changed in the past few years though. housing market used to be much manageable but now it's pretty good.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 14 years ago from Raleigh and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Downtown. It's better than expected for what you get.

Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in hospitality. If you're in engineering you might struggle.

People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 13 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem surprisingly good.

I've been here 7 years and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The thing nobody mentions is dating scene. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the healthcare is legit. And if you're into running, this place is pretty good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The North side vs the Oak Park side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Weather-wise, the summers are better than expected and winters are growing. You get used to it after the first year.
