My experience has been mostly positive. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The only thing I'd watch out for is outdoor recreation. Other than that, Feel free to reach out with questions..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a contractor who relocated here from Tampa about 9 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and a fresh start.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Active local events and festivals
- Affordable housing options

Cons that are real:
- Can feel isolated
- Far from beaches/mountains

Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are wild, gas is challenging.

Socially, I love the pace of life here. Hope this helps!.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 6 years ago from Miami and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Sunset. It's improving for what you get.

Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in hospitality. If you're in education you might struggle.

People: Generally tough. It took about 3 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like Southern.
