What's it really like living in Palmas del Mar comunidad?
So, Just moved here 10 months ago and Average temperature is around 78--F, so it's warm year-round. Homes are going for about $446,800 on average. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The suburbs are where most families end up. Any advice would be great. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

Came here for cost of living and stayed because I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The cost of living is honestly decent and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem decent.
I've been here 14 years and it's exactly what I was looking for. The thing nobody mentions is community vibe. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the healthcare is legit. And if you're into surfing, this place is excellent.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Springfield side vs the The Heights side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Moved here from Charlotte about 6 years ago. I love the pace of life here. Still getting used to pet-friendliness but No regrets on my end..

I've lived in Lakewood for about 10 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. When I first moved here from Dallas, I was surprised by food scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Good healthcare facilities
- The public transit scene is challenging
The downsides:
- Dating scene is rough
- Limited entertainment options
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for retirees. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want community vibe, then yeah this place is great. But if school system matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

We moved here with our family and the quality of life is solid. Schools in The Heights area are solid. Kids love it here.
