Anyone else feel this way? We're a young couple and Crime rate is something to consider -Palmer Ranch sits at 187.1 per 100K. Poverty rate is 3.6%, which is pretty low. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value safety, you'll love it. The walkability is genuinely better than expected and I've found I love the pace of life here. My neighborhood (West) is reasonable and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Salt Lake City, be prepared for the culture shock. traffic is completely different here. And Traffic during rush hour is rough.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Used to live on the Downtown side, now on the Pine Hills side. Completely different vibe. it's improved dramatically in recent years.
