Life in Palmer Town as a young professional

Military spouse here. Poverty rate is 4.9%, which is pretty low. The weather takes some getting used to. What are your go-to spots? There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

As someone who grew up here, the quality of life is solid. A lot has changed in the past few years though. healthcare used to be much developing but now it's pretty good.

I've lived in The Heights for about 7 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. When I first moved here from Dallas, I was surprised by school system. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Four distinct seasons
- The food scene scene is underrated

The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Nightlife is limited

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for couples. No regrets on my end..
