Why I chose Palmer Town over bigger cities
OK so Born and raised here. Poverty rate is 4.9%, which is pretty low. Rent is about $1,041/month for a decent place. The unemployment rate is 2.2%, which is pretty low. You can expect to pay around $1,041 for rent here. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The weather takes some getting used to.

- Traffic can be terrible
- Cold winters
- Sprawl everywhere
- Homelessness issues downtown
Has anyone dealt with this? The food scene here is surprisingly good. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.
