Best kept secrets of Palo Alto, CA

Anyone else feel this way? I'm a 27-year-old software engineer and Poverty rate is 3.2%, which is pretty low. Crime rate is something to consider -Palo Alto sits at 128.5 per 100K. The unemployment rate is 2.3%, which is pretty low. The suburbs are where most families end up. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Am I wrong here? Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

I've lived in Downtown for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it was the best decision I ever made. When I first moved here from New York, I was surprised by cost of living. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Decent public transit for the size
- The traffic scene is surprisingly good

The downsides:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Dating scene is rough

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for remote workers. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
