Moving to Palos Heights with kids -good idea?

I work in tech and Crime rate is something to consider -Palos Heights sits at 39.6 per 100K. With a population of 11,817, Palos Heights is a small town. The unemployment rate is 1.9%, which is pretty low. It's a a small town city with about 11,817 people. The weather takes some getting used to. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. What would you do? It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

I'm a project manager and I've found I'm still on the fence after all this time. The community is pretty good and there's always something going on.
