Grocery stores in Palos Hills -recommendations?

Alright, I've been here for 13 years and Household incomes average around $83,969 in Palos Hills. Poverty rate is 6.6%, which is pretty low. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Has anyone dealt with this? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

Came here for cost of living and stayed because it's been a really good experience overall. The job market is honestly tough and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem challenging.

I've been here 10 years and I love the pace of life here. The thing nobody mentions is public transit. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the outdoor recreation is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is excellent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Cedar Grove side vs the Lakewood side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Maple Ridge for 12 years. Moved from Nashville for weather. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is decent. We bought in 2015 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 1-bed in a safe area. Lots of new construction which should help.

**Employment:**
manufacturing is strong here. healthcare is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are growing for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it exceeded my expectations. The outdoor scene is average - we have national forests within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Maple Ridge schools are underrated. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Urban sprawl is real. Limited high-paying job options. And weather can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For young professionals, I'd say this is a 8/10. Give it a chance - it might surprise you.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Public transit is underrated here. You'll probably need a car for most things. the quality of life is solid.

Moved here from Dallas about 9 years ago. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Still getting used to community vibe but Would recommend to anyone considering it..
