I grew up here but left for a while. The unemployment rate is 2.7%, which is pretty low. Household incomes average around $83,969 in Palos Hills. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Has anyone dealt with this? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The weather takes some getting used to. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The city has invested a lot in new development.

Weather-wise, the summers are hit or miss and winters are established. You get used to it after the first year.

My experience has been mostly positive. it was the best decision I ever made. The only thing I'd watch out for is outdoor recreation. Other than that, Good luck with whatever you decide..

As someone who grew up here, it's not perfect but it works for me. A lot has changed in the past few years though. dating scene used to be much competitive but now it's average.

I've been living here for 1 years and I'd say it's been a really good experience overall. The traffic is tough compared to other places I've lived. Overall Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value cost of living, you'll love it. The healthcare is genuinely excellent and I've found it's been a really good experience overall. My neighborhood (West) is established and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Miami, be prepared for the culture shock. community vibe is completely different here. And Property taxes are high.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I've lived in Old Town for about 6 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it was the best decision I ever made. When I first moved here from San Diego, I was surprised by cost of living. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Nice parks and green spaces
- The outdoor recreation scene is hit or miss
The downsides:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Limited shopping options
Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for young professionals. No regrets on my end..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's exactly what I was looking for. Feel free to reach out with questions..
