Biggest downsides of living in Panaca?

Not sure if this has been asked before, but I'm a nurse at the local hospital and Median household income is $61,935, which feels about average for the area. The median home value here is around $277,800, which seems about average. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The weather takes some getting used to. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 8 years ago from Tampa and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Downtown. It's tough for what you get.

Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in real estate. If you're in finance you might struggle.

People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 14 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: average. Tons of options if you like sushi.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..
