Couple moving to Paola from out of state

Random thought, Average temperature is around 55--F, so expect cold winters. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The weather takes some getting used to. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

Bought a house here in 2016 and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Property values have gone about the same since then.

I've lived in Uptown for about 7 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from Atlanta, I was surprised by pet-friendliness. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Close to major attractions
- The walkability scene is average

The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Not a lot of cultural diversity

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for retirees. Definitely worth checking out..
