Hello, I'm a college student here and Rent is about $1,210/month for a decent place. The median home value here is around $290,900, which seems about average. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. What are your go-to spots? Any help is appreciated. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 7 years ago from Baltimore and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in North. It's excellent for what you get.
Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in government. If you're in engineering you might struggle.
People: Generally better than expected. It took about 9 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: pretty good. Tons of options if you like craft beer.
Good luck with whatever you decide..

We moved here with our family and it exceeded my expectations. Schools in Uptown area are tough. Kids love it here.
