Paradise is underrated, change my mind

Longtime lurker here, I'm retired and Household incomes average around $58,874 in Paradise. The unemployment rate is 6.2%, which is concerning. You can expect to pay around $1,287 for rent here. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's changing fast — some good, some not so much. The weather takes some getting used to.

Pros:
- Growing food scene
- Diverse community
- Walkable downtown
- Active local events

Cons:
- Hot summers
- Cold winters
- Limited nightlife
- Boring for young people
What do you all think? Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's changing fast — some good, some not so much. Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want nightlife, then yeah this place is great. But if dating scene matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
