Rent vs buy in Paradise -what makes sense?

So, Born and raised here. You can expect to pay around $1,129 for rent here. Poverty rate is 11.0%, which is around average. Rent is about $1,129/month for a decent place. Average temperature is around 54--F, so expect cold winters. The city has invested a lot in new development. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. What neighborhoods would you suggest? The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem excellent.

I've been here 4 years and it was the best decision I ever made. The thing nobody mentions is nightlife. It's affordable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the job market is legit. And if you're into running, this place is decent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Meadowbrook side vs the Old Town side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
