What's it really like living in Paramount?

Alright, I'm a college student here and With a population of 52,546, Paramount is a smaller city. Average temperature is around 65--F, so the weather is moderate. You can expect to pay around $1,772 for rent here. Crime rate is something to consider -Paramount sits at 637.6 per 100K. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Should I be concerned? Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem tough.

I've been here 15 years and it's improved dramatically in recent years. The thing nobody mentions is food scene. It's affordable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the food scene is legit. And if you're into photography, this place is average.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Riverside side vs the West side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
