Best industries in Paramus right now

Been meaning to ask this. I grew up here but left for a while. Median household income is $139,707, which feels pretty solid for the area. It's a a smaller city city with about 26,500 people. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Anyone in a similar situation? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

Hot take but it exceeded my expectations. I know a lot of people disagree but after 10 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Bought a house here in 2018 and I love the pace of life here. Property values have gone up a bit since then.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a chef, 49, moved here 14 years ago from New York. I've lived in Eastside and Greenfield, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Low crime in most neighborhoods
2. Lots of new development happening
3. Close to major attractions
4. The people are generally hit or miss - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Winters are long and cold
2. Limited shopping options
3. The nightlife situation is competitive and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Eastside: Great for young professionals. improving vibes, walkable.
- Greenfield: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from New York, everything felt tough. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are established. Gas is affordable. You can live comfortably on $90K-$80K here.

**Final verdict:**
Give it a chance - it might surprise you.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want school system, then yeah this place is great. But if cost of living matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Moved here from Minneapolis about 8 years ago. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Still getting used to cost of living but Hope this helps!.
