OK so I'm retired and Average temperature is around 55--F, so the weather is moderate. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Does this match your experience? Thanks in advance! Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The weather takes some getting used to. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The city has invested a lot in new development. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a chef who relocated here from Dallas about 1 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and quality of life.
Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Lots of new development happening
- Good internet infrastructure
Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Limited shopping options
Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are growing, gas is tough.
Socially, I love the pace of life here. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
