Thinking about relocating to Paramus from Houston

So, Homes are going for about $736,000 on average. Crime rate is something to consider -Paramus sits at 166.3 per 100K. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. What do you all think? People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 14 years ago from San Francisco and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in North. It's surprisingly good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in healthcare. If you're in real estate you might struggle.

People: Generally better than expected. It took about 14 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: improving. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..

The food scene here is underrated. Tons of great Asian places. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.

I work in engineering here and it's been a really good experience overall. The job market for my field is solid. Definitely worth checking out..
