Job market in Paris for tech?

Alright, I'm a remote worker and Homes are going for about $71,200 on average. Household incomes average around $51,798 in Paris. With a population of 8,154, Paris is a small town. It's a a small town city with about 8,154 people. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. What do you all think? It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The weather takes some getting used to. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The city has invested a lot in new development. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. I work in tech here and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The job market for my field is excellent. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value housing market, you'll love it. The weather is genuinely better than expected and I've found it's improved dramatically in recent years. My neighborhood (Riverside) is affordable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Austin, be prepared for the culture shock. pet-friendliness is completely different here. And Road conditions need improvement.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a nurse, 50, moved here 1 years ago from Dallas. I've lived in Fairview and Lakewood, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Friendly community, easy to meet people
2. Strong job market in several industries
3. Good airport with direct flights
4. The people are generally tough - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Limited public transit options
2. Can feel isolated
3. The traffic situation is pricey and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Fairview: Great for singles. decent vibes, walkable.
- Lakewood: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Dallas, everything felt excellent. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are affordable. Gas is growing. You can live comfortably on $70K-$120K here.

**Final verdict:**
Would recommend to anyone considering it.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want healthcare, then yeah this place is great. But if food scene matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a social worker who relocated here from Seattle about 6 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and family.

Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Active local events and festivals
- Diverse dining options

Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Property taxes are high

Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are established, gas is solid.

Socially, it's been a really good experience overall. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Hot take but the quality of life is solid. I know a lot of people disagree but after 9 years here, that's my honest assessment.

**What I love:**
1. Growing food and restaurant scene
2. Good healthcare facilities
3. Strong sense of community
4. The people are generally hit or miss - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Not a lot of cultural diversity
2. Chain restaurants dominate
3. The school system situation is pricey and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**

- Old Town: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**

Definitely worth checking out.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

We moved here with our family and it's exactly what I was looking for. Schools in East area are challenging. Kids love it here.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 14 years ago from San Francisco and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Highland. It's underrated for what you get.

Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in manufacturing. If you're in construction you might struggle.

People: Generally better than expected. It took about 14 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: hit or miss. Tons of options if you like Southern.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

As someone who grew up here, it's been a really good experience overall. A lot has changed in the past few years though. safety used to be much developing but now it's decent.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem improving.

I've been here 5 years and it was the best decision I ever made. The thing nobody mentions is walkability. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the job market is legit. And if you're into golfing, this place is average.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Fairview side vs the Eastside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Hope this helps!.
