Rent in Paris getting crazy

Homes are going for about $99,500 on average. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Worth the trade-offs? People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Fairview for 9 years. Moved from Dallas for quality of life. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is improving. We bought in 2024 at k and it's now worth up a bit than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 3-bed in a safe area. Lots of new construction which should help.

**Employment:**
construction is strong here. finance is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are reasonable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it's not perfect but it works for me. The outdoor scene is hit or miss - we have beaches within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Fairview schools are underrated. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Limited public transit options. Summers can be brutally hot. And safety can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For young professionals, I'd say this is a 9/10. Happy to answer more specific questions.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a physical therapist who relocated here from Salt Lake City about 6 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and a job opportunity.

Pros I've experienced:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Good internet infrastructure
- Four distinct seasons

Cons that are real:
- Dating scene is rough
- Homeless population growing downtown

Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are pricey, gas is decent.

Socially, the quality of life is solid. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Public transit is improving here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I genuinely enjoy living here.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. it's exactly what I was looking for. Compared to Miami it's surprisingly good.
