Thinking about relocating to Park City from St. Louis

OK so Does this match your experience? Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a pharmacist who relocated here from Denver about 8 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and school.

Pros I've experienced:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Affordable housing options
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Chain restaurants dominate

Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are growing, gas is challenging.

Socially, the quality of life is solid. Feel free to reach out with questions..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are surprisingly good, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

The food scene here is excellent. Tons of great BBQ places. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 7 years ago from Raleigh and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Cedar Grove. It's underrated for what you get.

Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in education. If you're in finance you might struggle.

People: Generally challenging. It took about 7 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: hit or miss. Tons of options if you like sushi.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 7 years ago from Salt Lake City and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Eastside. It's surprisingly good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in marketing. If you're in construction you might struggle.

People: Generally challenging. It took about 7 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like craft beer.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem improving.

I've been here 6 years and it exceeded my expectations. The thing nobody mentions is healthcare. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the job market is legit. And if you're into skiing, this place is average.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Uptown side vs the East side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

As someone who grew up here, it's exactly what I was looking for. A lot has changed in the past few years though. pet-friendliness used to be much manageable but now it's hit or miss.
