Is Park Forest Village worth moving to in 2026?

So, I'm a 37-year-old restaurant manager and Household incomes average around $79,363 in Park Forest Village. Crime rate is something to consider -Park Forest Village sits at 46.0 per 100K. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Thoughts? Looking forward to hearing from you all.

Bought a house here in 2015 and it's improved dramatically in recent years. Property values have gone up a bit since then.

I'm a social worker and I've found it's been a really good experience overall. The community is average and there's always something going on.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a contractor who relocated here from Boston about 2 years ago. The main reasons were work and work.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good internet infrastructure
- Four distinct seasons
- Good airport with direct flights

Cons that are real:
- Limited entertainment options
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are pricey, gas is hit or miss.

Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. No regrets on my end..

We moved here with our family and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Schools in West area are better than expected. Kids love it here.
