Hey, Military spouse here. With a population of 39,241, Park Ridge is a smaller city. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

Weather-wise, the summers are tough and winters are established. You get used to it after the first year.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 4 years ago from Tampa and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Oak Park. It's challenging for what you get.
Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in legal. If you're in real estate you might struggle.
People: Generally average. It took about 17 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: hit or miss. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.
Definitely worth checking out..

I'm a pharmacist and I've found I love the pace of life here. The community is challenging and there's always something going on.
