So, Average temperature is around 55--F, so expect cold winters. Rent is about $746/month for a decent place. You can expect to pay around $746 for rent here. With a population of 29,461, Parkersburg is a smaller city. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The suburbs are where most families end up. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The weather takes some getting used to. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The city has invested a lot in new development.

I've lived in Pine Hills for about 12 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's not perfect but it works for me. When I first moved here from Seattle, I was surprised by housing market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- The job market scene is underrated
The downsides:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Far from beaches/mountains
Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for couples. Feel free to reach out with questions..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 4 years ago from San Diego and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Meadowbrook. It's underrated for what you get.
Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in consulting. If you're in real estate you might struggle.
People: Generally decent. It took about 17 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: better than expected. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.
Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Hot take but the quality of life is solid. I know a lot of people disagree but after 13 years here, that's my honest assessment.
