Relocating to Parkland, WA -pros and cons?

First post here. With a population of 39,174, Parkland is a smaller city. The weather takes some getting used to. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Looking forward to hearing from you all. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

I'm a chef and I've found it's not perfect but it works for me. The community is average and there's always something going on.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it was the best decision I ever made. Internet is solid in most areas.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem decent.

I've been here 9 years and it's exactly what I was looking for. The thing nobody mentions is community vibe. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the cultural scene is legit. And if you're into fishing, this place is underrated.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The West side vs the Lakewood side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want public transit, then yeah this place is great. But if dating scene matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Weather-wise, the summers are surprisingly good and winters are affordable. You get used to it after the first year.

Bought a house here in 2015 and it was the best decision I ever made. Property values have gone up a bit since then.

Public transit is underrated here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I love the pace of life here.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it was the best decision I ever made. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

That said, the job market is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is improving.
