First post here. We have two kids and The unemployment rate is 3.2%, which is pretty low. Homes are going for about $251,100 on average. Household incomes average around $78,405 in Parkville. It's a a smaller city city with about 30,423 people. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Thanks! People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Came here for cost of living and stayed because I genuinely enjoy living here. The walkability is honestly solid and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a real estate agent who relocated here from LA about 11 years ago. The main reasons were work and my partner's job.
Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Close to major attractions
- Diverse dining options
Cons that are real:
- Property taxes are high
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are wild, gas is decent.
Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

As someone who grew up here, it's not perfect but it works for me. A lot has changed in the past few years though. dating scene used to be much competitive but now it's surprisingly good.
